Every year the Serpentine Pavilion in Kensington Gardens selects an architect from around the world to design and build the Pavilion. My brief was to document the build that Stage One in York is responsible for.
This shoot was about capturing the organic nature of the build from the architect’s drawings, to the selection of stone from the quarry to painting in the workshop and final build. The pavilion stays for the summer then tours the world.
It was also a real privilege to meet and photograph Richard Rogers a noted and prolific architect of our time.
